Quail Run Farm
Rebecca Plante
Since she was 12 years old, Rebecca has been an avid equestrian and throughout her teens and early twenties she was an active competitor in the local A rated shows in both hunters and jumpers. Rebecca has trained and attended clinics with some excellent coaches including Nicole Gibby, Jane Stone, Meghan Rawlins and Adiva Murphy. Rebecca has taken a hiatus from showing and upper level competition to focus on her family and horses at home, but regularly augments her equestrian education with clinics and lessons with established clinicians whenever possible. Rebecca's current areas of interests include Equitation Science, Working Equitation and Eventing. In 2018 with her heart horse, Hazel, Rebecca made her BC Eventing debut at the Mary Swanson event at Maple Ridge Equi Sports Centre. This was the highlight of her equestrian career and ignited a passion for all phases of eventing: dressage, stadium jumping and cross country. Eventing is currently one of Rebecca’s strongest passions and has heavily influenced the direction of her development as a rider and coach.
Rebecca graduated with her Bachelor Degree in Nursing in 2013 and in 2020, she obtained her diploma in Equine Performance therapy. Rebecca truly enjoys the holistic aspects of working with horses through this well researched practice. In addition to her interest in Performance Therapy, Rebecca is also interested in rider development and hosted a small successful riding school at her farm with Angela Bertrand as head instructor until Angela relocated in 2021. This departure left a void for Angela's students and Rebecca stepped into the role as instructor. This was a major transition yet Rebecca gracefully rose to the occasion and has never looked back! Rebecca continues to foster a passion and love of horses in her students who have blossomed in confidence and self-esteem under her warmness, dedication and her own skills as an excellent rider. Quail Run farm was born out of Rebecca’s love of horses and rider development. Following a passion for the multi -disciplinary approaches and eventing, the goal of Quail Run is to continue to offer a low key and fun environment for students to have access to ‘a bit of everything’. From basic instruction in dressage, jumping and working equitation to the ability to attend other equestrian venues including clinics, local shows and cross country instruction at Hi Point Farm in Duncan.
